Announcing the 2025 Intensive Lecture Sessions on the Science of the Mind: “Culture in Mind, Logic, and Law”
2025.10.28
From December 17 to 19, 2025, IFOHS will once again host the Intensive Lecture Sessions on the Science of Mind, with this year’s theme being “Culture in Mind, Logic, and Law.”
The Intensive Lecture Sessions represents a unique three-day program in which leading researchers in the science of mind from Japan and abroad are invited to deliver lectures and engage in in-depth discussions with participants.
For the 2025 sessions, we welcome Professor Shinobu Kitayama (University of Michigan), Professor Masako Watanabe (Nagoya University), and Professor Tatsuhiko Inatani (Kyoto University) as lecturers.
The ways people think, construct logic, and design laws and systems are deeply shaped by cultural contexts, and the sessions will explore in depth how culture influences human cognition and the structures of society, drawing on frontline perspectives from cultural psychology, the sociology of knowledge, and digital law.
