An e-book edition of “The Development of Esoteric Buddhist Thought in the Heian Period” by IFOHS Associate Professor Takahiko Kameyama, originally published in 2023 by Rinsen Book Co., has been released as a series of standalone digital volumes on the website “Chieumi”, a book-streaming service dedicated to Buddhism content.\

In this digital edition, Chapter 1, “Kakuban’s Thought on Suchness,” and Chapter 3, “The Five Viscera Mandala and the Practice of Attaining Buddhahood during life in Kakuban’s Thought,” of Part II have been compiled and published as two separated volumes.

In addition, an interview with Associate Professor Kameyama discussing the motivation behind the creation of the e-book edition as well as on the perspectives on future developments has been published on the related website “Chieumi PLUS.”
