On December 6, the UEHIRO Research Division held a hybrid Research Presentation Meeting at Inamori Center of Kyoto University and online via Zoom.

The event began with a report on the recent research activities of the UEHIRO Research Division, followed by a talk by IFOHS Associate Professor Kameyama and a keynote lecture by Professor Fumihiko Sueki (Professor Emeritus at University of Tokyo and International Research Center for Japanese Studies), entitled “The Formation of ‘Older Layers’ and Japanese Esoteric Buddhism.”

The meeting concluded with a panel discussion, diving into the multilayered nature of Japanese thought and culture. The event was popular, with approximately 100 participants in attendance.
