The “BuddhaBot”, a Buddhist AI chatbot developed by IFOHS Professor Seiji Kumagai’s and his research team, was featured in the article“Kyoto Conference: ‘Where Are Humans Heading on the AI Boat?’—A Heated Dialogue Between Philosophy and Business” by Japanese financial newspaper Nikkei.

In the article, philosopher Markus Gabriel cites the BuddhaBot as a concrete example for how AI, when utilized as a form of ethical intelligence, has the potential to contribute to the moral progress of humanity.
