It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Professor Emeritus Tōji Kamata, who passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the age of 74.

Professor Kamata retired from Kyoto University and was granted the title of Professor Emeritus in 2016. We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the guidance, inspiration, and collegiality he extended during his lifetime, and we respectfully share this news with all who knew him.
