Research Presentation by Program-Specific Associate Professor Ryusuke Nakai Received the Excellent Presentation Award at the 70th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Group Dynamics Association

2024.10.07

The research presentation by Program-Specific Associate Professor Ryusuke Nakai and his team was selected for the Excellent Presentation Award (English Session) at the 70th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Group Dynamics Association, which was held from August 22nd to 23rd, 2024.

Program-Specific Associate Professor Ryusuke Nakai, in collaboration with Hirokazu Hatta (Research Fellow, Graduate School of Humanities, Kobe University, first author) and Kuniaki Yanagisawa (Associate Professor, Kobe University), presented their work titled “Lonely people post idiosyncratic pictures on Instagram.” While previous studies revealed lonely individuals showed distinct brain activity and linguistic expressions compared to non-lonely individuals, this study explored the idiosyncratic pictures of lonely people posted on Instagram, a common platform for social communication in the contemporary society.
This work was supported by a JST RISTEX Japan Grant Number JPMJRX21K3.
